The aim of this unplugged and plugged in publication is to provide a starting point for teachers looking to understand some good ways to go about delivering computing National Curriculum 2014.
It will focus on the breadth and depth of the subject with a focus on Networks and Communications (with links to Data and Data Representation) and an emphasis on understanding how this can be implemented in classrooms whilst taking into account progression through Primary education (aged 7 to 11) into lower secondary education (aged 11 onwards).
The English National Curriculum for Computing is made up of three separate but interdependent strands: Computer Science, Informa&on Technology and Digital Literacy. Each component is essential in preparing pupils to thrive in an increasingly digital world; and this publication suggests lessons and units of study that incorporate and integrate all three strands.
The authors would welcome all feedback from colleagues on how to improve this work for future versions
