CAS Cambridge - Leading the Way
Local Community
Face to Face
We’re delighted, in association with our friends at Arm, to hold our first in-person event for some time and we thought we’d splash out!
We’ll get an update on what has been happening in CAS and Computing education plus a great opportunity to connect with our colleagues in our area to share our ideas and resources and here from two distinguished experts in our field:
- Prof Simon Peyton Jones FRS OBE, Chair Computing At School
- Peter Marshman, Chair CAS Physical Computing Working Group
We're thrilled that both Simon and Pete are willing to come along, I’m sure they need no introduction. Simon will focus on AI and just how it works, this will be fascinating insight touching on the technical and societal/educational impact. We’ll also get a chance to discuss on how tools such as ChatGPT will change (are changing?) how we approach teaching and learning. We hear biscuits will be on the menu. Peter, building on his rich depth of knowledge on physical computing, will be providing a hands-on session for connecting and using various devices and tools for enhancing engagement for both primary and secondary pupils.
There will also be a chance for you to showcase anything you wish from your school as part of our Speed Geek session. We’ll be in touch about that!
