Barefoot announced as Scratch Ecosystem Leader!

We are delighted to announce that Barefoot has been selected as an inaugural Scratch Ecosystem Leader.

Working alongside the Brazilian Creative Learning Network (BCLN), Quest Alliance (India), STEAM For Vietnam (Vietnam), STEM Impact Center Kenya (Kenya), STEM NOLA (Southern US), we are excited to promote Scratch for good and continue the great work undertaken within our role as a SEC partner.

In 2021, Scratch established the SEC (Scratch Education Collaborative) to create an international program that unites organisations focused on providing creating coding opportunities to historically undeserved groups, such as girls and children with disabilities.

The SEC offers organisations such as ourselves a community of like-minded peers, resources like grants and collaboration opportunities, and strategic guidance from the Scratch Foundation team to aid their growth and amplify the impact of Scratch in their communities.

One of our proudest achievements within this community so far is the launch of the Barefoot Accessible Adventures in Coding resources.

The Scratch Foundation is dedicated to deepening and sustaining their support for localised creative coding initiatives with Scratch through an ecosystem approach led by SEC Members, who are uniquely positioned to help us engaged with even more children worldwide

Barefoot at the Scratch Conference

We're excited to be joining the team of Ecosystem Leader's at this year's global Scratch Conference on 24-25th July. We will be facilitating a collaborative coding session on July 25th from 6pm - 8pm. Attendees will work together in groups to develop a game / animation and learn key programming concepts through the theme of renewable energy solutions. Register your place and join the fun!
