CAS is a grateful recipient of an Epic MegaGrant

We are thrilled to announce that Computing at School (CAS) has received an Epic MegaGrant to support its work. The support from the MegaGrant will enable CAS to further its mission of improving computing education for all learners.

Thanks to the support from the Epic MegaGrant, CAS will be organising events which bring together teachers, researchers, and industry professionals to share their experiences and insights in the field of computing education. The aid from the MegaGrant will also enable pupil-facing events which encourage creativity, problem-solving and collaboration skills in a digital context.

Our thriving communities of practice will continue to explore key themes in computing education, including artificial intelligence, data science and cybersecurity.  This will provide an opportunity for educators to share best practices, collaborate on curriculum development and explore new teaching approaches.

We will continue to support teachers’ professional development, by offering training and resources to help educators keep up to date with the very latest technological developments. This will ensure that teachers are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to inspire and educate the next generation of computing professionals.

Throughout all of our efforts, we remain deeply committed to promoting diversity and inclusion across the digital landscape. We believe that engaging under-represented groups, including girls, in computing, is vital. Digital and computing knowledge and skills are essential in the world of today and tomorrow for everyone.

We are grateful for the support of the Epic MegaGrant and we are excited about the opportunities this will create for the computing education community. We look forward to continuing to make a positive impact on the future of digital education.
