Hi everyone,

This is an update of my 2015-16 curriculum resource for the new academic year. I've added a couple of new topics and tutorial microsite links (these are websites with all the instruction and help for pupils baked in - they should be pretty self contained and let students learn at their own pace).

This page on my blog links to dropbox folders for all of my new (and older) units at KS3. Some are new for 2016-17 Computing but I've kept the older ones in case they are of use to you. These is also an assessment framework.

EVERYTHING is a work in progress (the levelling criteria in particular need some work) and is subject to periodic updating and tweaking. Any feedback/suggestions more than welcome, Tweet me on @MrAColley. Anyway, the units are:

Y7

  • Digital Citizenship
  • Introduction to computers
  • Binary (including a Scratch converter)
  • E Safety
  • Introduction to Scratch

Y8

  • Scratch - virtual pet
  • Small Basic
  • Web Design - HTML/CSS
  • Control
  • Heroes of computing (data handling/Photoshop)

Y9

  • Scratch to Visual Basic
  • Flash Animation
  • Databases
  • How the Internet Works (networking)
  • E Safety

And quite a bit more.

Enjoy, and please leave comments or feedback. Andy
