This presentation by Professor Miles Berry explores the role of data in education, emphasizing its importance for teachers and learners. He will highlight the value of data science, outline its foundations and applications in the curriculum, and discuss tools for teaching it. He emphasises the importance of data ethics and will explore the use of data for research. Miles will also provide guidance on using tools like Excel for data analysis and interpreting assessment data. He will finally be exploring what the school performance tables tell us about uptake and attainment in computing at GCSE.
