Teaching programming with LLMs

This will be an interactive online session exploring the use of LLMs for teaching text-based programming. Specifically, we explore the use of LLMs to explain programming error messages. Veronica Cucuiat, a Research Scientist at the Raspberry Pi Foundation, will describe the findings from a research project on secondary school educators' views of using LLM to explain programming error messages in classrooms. The pedagogical implications of using LLMs to teach programming will be discussed, in view of feedback literacy general education theory.
