4pm: Tomi Rowlands, Supporting Improvement Advisor – Digital for GwE Gogledd Cymru one of five regional education consortia in Wales who work with schools to raise standards and provide a range of support. Tomi will introduce a computing progression map which has been developed to support the planning of progression in digital skills in relation to the new curriculum for Wales. The progression map aims to target fundamental skills and offers teacher guidance on student progress throughout the school continuum (progression steps 1-5). Tomi will then lead a hands-on exploration of debugging changes using digital micro:bit (www.gwegogledd.cymru)
4.30pm: Jodie Campbell, Senior Education Community Manager and Kathy Sheppard-Barnes, Education Community Manager at Apps for Good, a charity which provides free tech innovation courses to schools, giving teachers ready-made education content, so young people from all backgrounds can develop computing and essential skills to create a brighter future through technology.
Jodie and Kathy will run a hands-on session with code.org's App Lab and introduce two Apps for Good courses that use App Lab to program apps (www.appsforgood.org & www.appsforgood.org/courses/social-action)
