Hi Laura,
Not a silly question at all
Here’s a link to apply for our offline installer:
https://forms.unrealengine.com/s/edu-offline-request
With that, your IT can install Unreal on all machines and students will not have to log in to epic games to access. They would just launch from a standalone application on the computer.
Steve
Hi all,
Any tips on getting Unreal Engine installed on a school network? After months of trying my IT team said that they couldn’t install Unity (as it needed access to the cmd line.)
Is Unreal Engine “safer”?
(Sorry for silly question but I don’t want to spend a lot of time learning a platform that we can’t use!)
Thanks
Rube Goldberg Unreal Engine Challenge
Engage your students’ creativity and problem-solving skills with this exciting interactive 3D competition! Students are invited to design and animate their own virtual Rube Goldberg Machine in Unreal Engine, bringing complex, imaginative chain reactions to life in the digital world. This challenge is perfect for budding creators eager to explore 3D animation and engineering concepts in a fun and innovative way.
Encourage your students to join the challenge and watch their ideas come to life!

Exciting News for Educators & Game Developers!
Earlier this year, we launched resources to help educators and students get started with Unreal Editor for Fortnite. The response has been fantastic, and I’m thrilled to announce new follow-up enrichment resources are being released next week!
To showcase these new materials, there is a webinar on Wednesday which will walk you through how these resources can enhance your curriculum or gaming projects.

We do have an offline installer option for Unreal Engine which may please the IT team as it doesn’t require students to login and I don’t believe it requires access to the command line.
